Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Boo at the Zoo
October 19, 2008
We took the kids to an event at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo called Boo at the Zoo. It's a chance to go to the zoo in the evening, see the animals, and do some trick-or-treating sponsored by local businesses.
Our family dressed up as the characters in the Cat in the Hat book by Dr. Suess. Anne-Marie was the cat-in-the-hat, Ellie was Sally, the boys were Thing 1 and Thing 2, and I had the super easy costume of Jack.
Cheesing for the camera.
We showed up early because we've heard this event is very popular and parking is tight. So we at a little supper in the parking lot.
Thing 1&2 working on some lunchables while we waited.
The wait wasn't too bad though. They were allowing people to pay and get just beyond the gates early so the lines moved pretty quick when they opened.
The boys learned how to say Trick-or-treat real fast since they got a reward of candy everytime they did. The trick was keeping them from eating it all right away.
One nice thing about visiting the zoo at night is that the animals that usually take cover during the day are out and playing. We'd never seen all the lions out before.
They had several easy games for the kids to play to win prizes.
Just a few more fun shots of the fam---
